...and Lucy Gives Him One More Shot

So yeah, a bit rapid fire on the posts today, but just got an email from Orange Mod Works about the very issue that plagued my Alpha Trooper kit.  To keep it short, they're taking action to correct the catch problems that the AT and Raider kits are giving some of their customers like me.  This is a guarantee for new orders, and they're also requesting contact from those who may have already purchased the kit.  This sounds like a pretty square shake to me.  Keep reading for a full transcript of the email, and be sure to let them know if you have problems of your own.

Hey Orange fans,

In order to address the various concerns regarding the reliability
of our Alpha Trooper Massacre Kit, we have started shipping new
orders with the 5kg spring (instead of 6kg), and an o-ring pad in
the plunger. This pad gives the plunger an extra 2-3mm of travel,
necessary to compensate for any travel distance lost from the metal
priming rod flexing.

The 5kg spring will further increase the durability of this kit by
reducing the stress placed on the metal priming rod during use.
Using the 5kg spring will result in a slightly lower muzzle
velocity when compared to the 6kg spring, but the overall firing
range is not reduced, due to the fact that stock streamlines are
more stable when traveling around 70-80 feet per second.

In addition, all current Raider Massacre Kits are being shipped
with an o-ring pad installed in the plunger as well. While the
Raider kit functions as advertised with no padding installed, it is
not the most user-friendly of our kits. With no padding, the Raider
requires a sharp priming action in order to function reliably. If
the priming motion is slowed at all during the priming process,
the plunger may not lock back. The o-ring pad serves to compensate
for any lost travel distance caused by the internals flexing under
stress of the 6kg spring. Our Raider Massacre kits will NOT have
their spring tension reduced due to the higher rigidity of the
Raider priming rod and the fact that more power is needed to
overcome any decreases in range caused by the smaller diameter
false barrel.

If you are experiencing technical difficulties with either of these
kits, please send us a support ticket through the link below:

We apologize for any inconvenience that these issues may have
caused. Our goal is to make sure that all of our customers receive
working products. So please don't hesitate to contact us if
you have any questions or concerns at all.

Thank you,

Orange Mod Works
